The Atlanta Falcons ended their regular season with a 22-10 win over the Carolina Panthers. The win secured them the final spot in the NFC  playoffs.

The Atlanta team scored on their first possession when running back Devonta Freeman covered 19 yards with a short pass from QB Matt Ryan. Freeman’s 20 touches for 118 yards helped to lead the team to  the 22-10 victory. Wide receiver Mohamed Sanu chipped in with seven catches for 71 yards.

The Falcons defense is the primary reason they are back in the postseason. On Sunday, Atlanta held Carolina to 87 yards on the ground, with the majority of those yards coming on Cam Newton scrambles.

Atlanta clinched the No. 6 seed in the NFC and will play at the Los Angeles Rams in the first round of the playoffs.
