In 1973, veterans of the Tuskegee Airmen squadrons, formed Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., as a non-profit, non-military, non-political organization. While many members of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., are veterans, membership is open to those individuals who share the goals and aims and ambitions of Tuskegee Airmen, Incorporated. The organization is committed to inspiring and motivating Young Americans toward healthy, learned, and enthusiastic participation within our democratic society. They support historical research, publish books, provide mentoring services, and grant scholarships to financially disadvantaged youths seeking careers in aviation and aerospace industries. Through 1998 more than 550 partial scholarships (valued at more than $700,000) had been awarded to High School Graduates without regard to race, gender, or national origin. |
